The snow has arrived and it is still November. The first big snow fall and boy have we been busy. We decided to stay just outside of the playground fence. The children were so busy. They built a house, made snow angels and tobogganed down the hill for our three hours of forest school time. It wasn't until two hours in before anyone mentioned going to the forest. When the question was put to the group, should we go to the forest the answer was no.
Lily: "I like playing the baby game and then I like making a snow angel. I like playing with Kristen, Megan and Mia"

Today we discovered the Brock students have been playing in the snow too. JW found a giant snowball. It was perfect for climbing, sitting and balancing. After taking turns the children found it was getting slippery. Mr. M made a rule sitting only. Everyone agreed. What else will we find in the snow?

Today we went for a hike. We travelled to a familiar place in a different way. We veered off the beaten path and found our own way. We found something disturbing, garbage everywhere.
"Why do they keep throwing garbage everywhere and we have to clean it?" Markus is very concerned.
As we travelled we found an old milk crate. Perfect for carrying the garbage.

Maybe we can Let the people at Brock know how we feel? Maybe they will start to clean up?
"How will we tell them?" "Who did it?" "It's not fair we have to clean their mess."

Today we found the snow had become packing snow. We decided to build a snow fort after some sledding.
One friend was tired and found a warm spot to have a rest. It began to rain so the educators built a shelter.
The next day we found the trees had a beautiful layer of snow making the forest look magical. We found a new type of track. J found a quiet sit spot to relax and watch the world go by. He watched the two swans and a few geese floating near by. They would come close the move away. Sometimes bobbing under looking for food. We believe a female cardinal flew to a bush very close to J. Maybe they wanted to watch J.
