We went for a walk today to the lake lookout. Last time it was frozen. This time there were parts with thin ice and parts that were just water. We found something new.
Thousands of small fish. And a green thing. As we walked we found some fallen trees.

This week we went to camp. The snow made it feel magical. As the snow fluttered down from the branches the children thought it was snowing just for them.
We found the wooden spool that went missing last spring. The children love to try to ride it while rolling it. tree climbing is popular again. Some found their fishing rods and did some ice fishing out of a bucket. The sloths have returned. ES has gathered food for her companions. They follow her around after some time in the tree hanging around. We were very busy today. The day began with a land acknowledgement spoken by the children. Then some fishing. ER caught a tuna. Then a surprise birthday party for EF including song and decorations. There was some drawing and candy making in there too. Busy day.
On this math day we made things using geometric shapes. Square, triangle, diamond, trapazoid, parrallelogram and hexagon.
The weather is always changing. On monday the children played in the snow with Bev. On tuesday we found the beginning of a snowfort. We added twenty large snowballs to the original four. As the weather warmwd up we kept visitting to see the changes. Wow did it change.! Written by S Robitaille. We returned to the forest today. We knew it would be a good day because we had some visitors. We had ony just begun our walk to camp when the deer crossed our path. We stood quietly and very still. We didn't want to scare them. We didn't know how many there was. Three.
We continued down the road looking for more deer and watching to see how windy it was. The trees at camp were swaying too much so we had to find somewhere else to play. We went to the fort near the lookout. The wind was a little bit calmer for a while. The children pretended the forts were pirateships. ES was a mermaid for a bit. ER said there was a cracken. I hear J say ahoy mate. They have the best imaginations. As the wind picked up we moved to another location. There was a tree blocking our way. The children decided they could either break it or move it. We could not do either. The tree was much stronger and heavier than we thought. Written by S Robitaille. |
