Celebration of NationsThis weekend is the Celebration of Nations. It's an Indigenous event that welcomes everyone to participate. They want to share their culture, food and music. There are lots of things to see. In the past there was a Welland library display with lego for the children to use. They have returned, hopefully there are activities to do.
There is a teepee set up with a fire and some Metis people to answer questions. There is a stage with musicians performing throughout the day. Most things are free. There is food and drink to buy. It's a good way for your child to see that Indigenous people exist in real life not just stories and they look like you and me. I will be at the sunrise cerimony on Sunday. Check it out. https://www.celebrationofnations.ca/ Written by S Robitaille.
