We started our day at the tennis court. It was a little slippery so we practiced balancing instead of running after balls. Next we made tracks in the field. We made some pictures too. A couple of children enjoy ruining the pictures instead of making them. At camp Stefano cut more blocks. N made a computer and a car out of blocks. It was also crazy hat day. So much fun.

We saw a cut down tree. Stefano helped bring a branch to camp so we could cut it into slices. Now we have some building blocks. The children had a turn helping to cut the log. We have new cut resistant gloves for the children and teachers.
We have a new space we love to play, the tennis courts. Gone wildThursday we saw some deer behind our camp. There were at least 5 maybe 10. We stood very quiet and watched them for a while. They continued on their way after 15 minutes because some workers came to cut down a few trees. Stefano walked over to let the workers know we were near by. Always safety first. On our way out of the forest 2 hawks were sitting in a tree. They moved from one tree to another, back and forth. It was fun to watch. We were so quiet they forgot we were there. When we left F & H let us know there was a squirrel on one of the trees. We were enough of a distraction the squirrel escaped. We have been very busy this week celebrating our 100th day of Kinders. We made crowns, stamps and portraits of our 100 year old self. We had a party with a 100 piece snack and dance music. We laughed, breathed, jumped and were silent for 100 seconds each. We ran 100 meters. We took 100 foot steps. We did 100 piece puzzles and read books about the number 100.
It has been wonderful. Our hike on a very cold day. We bundled up with lots of layers and off we went. We explored a different part of the forest. We stopped twice for a drink and a mitten warmth check. Everyone was warm and cozy. We saw the lake from a different spot. We could see the island. We took turns taking the lead. We did return a little bit early because we were tire. We began our day at the soccer field. We found many foot prints in the snow. There was one mistery print.
We played a migration game using the grass as nests. We flew back and forth from summer in Canada to winter in Florida. Sometimes the nests were not available due to hericanes or forest fires or floodIng. Sometimes there were extra nests because people cleaned up the shore or planted more trees. We ended up at camp. T, H and F made a campfire. Q, N and B used a tin heart as a treasure chest and took turns hiding it. Eventually everyone joined in to find the treasure. This week has been cold. It hasn't stopped us from having fun outside. We went to the healing garden and learned about the medicine wheel. North- white and represents winter or elderly. East - yellow and represents spring or childhood. South - red and represents summer or adolescents. West - black and represents autumn or adulthood. We also went to the pond inlet. We saw the pond was frozen and the waterfall was not flowing. We were wondering about the fish and frogs, are they frozen too? We saw a skeleton. Is it a dinosaur? What do you think? |
